Nepal’s Nimbus to Open 200 Agri Stores

NEPAL - Nimbus Krishi Kendra will be opening 200 agri stores in Nepal that will market agricultural products and equipment across the country as a one-stop solution for farmers.

The company will open its first store at Kalimati in Kathmandu in a month, and then establish stores in Narayanghat and Birgunj. Other outlets will be opened by 2016.

Nimbus said the stores would also act as a direct linkage between producers, processors and retailers of agricultural products.

These stores will offer customers farm-related products ranging from seeds, crop protection materials, fertilisers, plant nutrients, veterinary medicines, feed supplements, feed for various commercial livestock, agricultural equipment, machinery and tools.

The outlets would be a one-stop concept for all the people who are involved in agriculture production and business, Anand Bagaria, managing director of the company said.

The stores will also have modern warehouses that will be rent out storage space to farmers.
The company is also mulling to set up 5,000 tonnes capacity godowns in a few places.
