Only 13 per cent of US corn remains to be harvested, according to the latest USDA Crop Progress report. To date, farmers across the top 18 states have harvested 38 per cent more corn than in the past five years.
The five year average is 49 per cent, and as of October 21 Crop Progress reports that 87 per cent of the US corn has been harvested.
The cotton harvest is underway, with 38 per cent complete. 94 per cent of cotton balls are open across the 15 top producing states.
Half of US sorghum has been harvested with 87 per cent mature, on a par with previous years.
Eighty-one per cent of winter wheat has been planted, with 49 per cent of this emerged.
