UK Cereals Usage by Millers Brewers & Maltsters - April 2014
Key points
- Milling industry, starch and Bioethanol used 507 thousand tonnes of wheat in April 2015, up 1.0% on April 2014. Of this 425 thousand tonnes was home produced.
- Brewers, maltsters and distillers used 151 thousand tonnes of barley in April 2015, down 3.8% on April 2014.
- After two seasons of limited home grown milling wheat millers have switched back to home grown due to greater availability.
