UK Cereals Usage by Millers Brewers & Maltsters - July 2015
Key points
- Milling industry, starch and Bioethanol used 508 thousand tonnes of wheat in July 2015, down 1.1% on July 2014. Of this 429 thousand tonnes was home produced.
- Brewers, maltsters and distillers used 151 thousand tonnes of barley in July 2015, down 2.6% on July 2014.
- Brewers, maltsters and distillers used 43 thousand tonnes of wheat in July 2015, down 23% on July 2014.
- At the start of the new crop year 2015/16 imported wheat milled has declined 35% on the previous July.
