UK Animal Feed Statistics - August 2015
Key points
- Animal feed production was up 3.1% for pigs and 1.7% for poultry in August 2015 compared to August 2014 and down 9.5% for sheep and 5.8% for Cattle.
- 1.7% more wheat was used to produce animal feed in August 2015 than August 2014 and 16.7% less barley.
- Over the crop year from July to August, animal feed production was up 3.7% for pigs and 2.1% for poultry, down 12.8% for sheep and 3.8% for cattle compared to the previous crop year.
- Over the crop year from July to August, wheat used to produce animal feed was up 4.7% and barley down 19.6% compared to the previous crop year.
