Corn silking has made drastic improvements across the three "I" states this week, with Iowa showing a 32 per cent increase since last week.

Corn silking has jumped 30 per cent in Indiana to 60 per cent, a huge increase from the 5-year average of 19 per cent.

In Indiana, corn silking now stands at 77 per cent, 44 per cent above the 5-year average.

Overall corn conditions are struggling to meet with the standard of last year, with only 6 per cent of corn considered in 'excellent' condition across 18 states, in contrast to 17 per cent one year ago.

Across the three "I" states, corn appears to be moving slowly towards better conditions, with one per cent classed as excellent in Indiana this week, but 34 per cent still remains in poor condition.

Soybeans blooming made huge leaps this week, with all 18 states surpassing the 5-year average.

Soybean conditions are especially strong in Mississippi, with 25 per cent considered 'excellent' and 46 per cent classed as in 'good' condition.
