According to the latest USDA crop progress report, corn conditions have declined for the eighth consecutive week.

US corn conditions have declined yet again with only three per cent overall considered in excellent condition.

Corn conditions are suffering in the three "I" states especially, with zero corn considered to be in excellent condition in Illinois and only five per cent considered 'good'.

94 per cent of corn is silking, which is above the 5-year average of 77 per cent.

As we enter the first week of August, 37 per cent of the corn crop is doughing, compared to the 5-year average of only 17 per cent.

Corn denting has increased by seven per cent across 18 states in the past week, rising to 13 per cent.

88 per cent of soybeans have bloomed which is ahead of the 5-year average of 75 per cent.

37 per cent of soybeans are in very poor or poor condition compared to 12 per cent at the same time last year. Soybeans in good or excellent condition have decreased by two per cent from last week to 29 per cent.
