Irish CSO: Agricultural Price Indices - June 2012
The agricultural output price index increased by 0.9% in June 2012 compared with
May 2012The agricultural input price index increased by 0.2% over the same
period. Thus, the resulting terms of trade index increased by 0.7% in June 2012.

The seasonally adjusted output price index in June 2012 was 1.5% higher than in
May 2012. See Table 3.
On an annual comparison, the agricultural output price index in June 2012 was
3.6% higher than in June 2011. The agricultural input price index was up 2.6% in
June 2012 compared with June 2011.
A further comparison of the June 2012 sub-indices with June 2011 shows that:
- Poultry, cattle, eggs, cereals (incl. seeds), potatoes (incl. seeds) and pig prices increased by 20.6%, 19.4%, 8.8%, 6.2%, 6.2% and 5.7% respectively, while wool, milk and sheep prices decreased by 21.3%, 15.3% and 6.2%. See Tables 1a and 1b.
- Seeds, energy, fertilisers and feeding stuff prices increased by 7.7%, 6.7%, 2.8% and 1.8% respectively. See Tables 2a and 2b.
