According to the latest USDA Crop Progress report, corn conditions remain unchanged from last week, with just 23 per cent considered good or excellent. The majority of soybean conditions are considered fair.Corn conditions battle to improve, with 26 per cent of corn considered 'fair' across 18 states, the same percentage as this time last year.
Corn in the three "I" states are struggling, with the mjaority considered poor, or very poor. Iowa is showing signs of improvement, with 14 per cent considered good and 32 per cent classed as fair.
89 per cent of the corn crop was doughing, compared to the five-year average of only 66 per cent. 17 per cent of the corn crop was mature, compared to the five-year average and last year's maturity of only four per cent.
37 per cent of soybeans are in poor or very poor condition across 18 states, compared to 14 per cent at the same time last year.
91 per cent of soybeans have set pods, a 12 per cent increase from a year ago.
