According to the latest USDA Crop Progress report, the majority of corn dented across 18 states has reached into the 90 per cent bracket.

Corn dented has increased by 10 per cent in the past week, and stands at 23 per cent higher than the five-year average.

Corn maturity has made huge leaps in the past week from 26 per cent, to 41 per cent across 18 states.

Corn harvesting is beginning in many states, with Tennessee completing almost half of their corn harvest at 49 per cent.

Corn conditions remain completely unchanged from one week ago, with only three per cent considered 'excellent' and more than half remaining in poor or very poor condition.

Soybeans have fared much better than corn, with 33 per cent considered 'fair' - a slight rise on a week ago - and 30 per cent considered 'good' or 'excellent' across 18 states.

Soybeans dropping leaves remains a mixed picture across 18 states with 54 per cent of leaves dropping in South Dakota, but only two per cent in North Caroline. Overall 19 per cent of soybeans are dropping leaves, a 10 per cent increase on the five-year average.
